There are many different types of music in the world today. Why do we need music? Is the traditional music of a country more important than the international music that is heard everywhere nowadays? |
As you see, there are two related questions here. In cases like this, the best procedure is a
N-paragraph essay. "N" here can range from 3 to 6 based on your information and readiness
to write about either of the questions. For instance, if you have enough data to answer the first
question, you can devote two paragraphs in the body to this question. then you may answer
the second question in one paragraph. Consider the following outline.

Below is a proposed answer for the question mentioned early in this chapter.
With no doubt, music is a necessity
in our lives. It has always been an inseparable part of human life, a very
important category of art, and an effective way of expressing oneself. Imagine
our world today, for one moment, without any music heard! It would be very dull
and monotonous. First of all, music, like all other
aspects of art, is a powerful and effective way of expressing our feelings. We,
humans, have always tried to express ourselves in different ways possible, which
has resulted in different branches of art and different styles within each
branch. This desire can be felt in architecture, literature, music, and all
other types of art. Note that, both the person who composes music and the
person who listens to a particular music are expressing themselves. Secondly, music has a powerful effect on
mind, we all have experienced the feeling music can produce in us. Sometimes a
piece can cause a feeling of sadness and sometimes the opposite. Besides, music
can affect not only our mood but also our body and cause changes in our
physiology. Scientists have discovered that with listening to blues, a genre of
music, endorphins and glucocorticoids- substances produced and released in
our body to help us endure pain and react reasonably to the painful stimulus-
are secreted. Moreover, the fact that there are many
types of music in the world shows our differences in taste, need, feeling
and desire, collectively known as culture. In other words, different styles
reflect our individuality. Accepting this prevents us from banning or giving
preference to any particular kind of music. Traditional and international
music both have their origin in human life with its variability over time and
place. Clearly neither of them is more important than the other. In summary,
as a means of self-statement and relating to others, music is necessary in our lives
and its variety and ever-changing nature reflects our changes and evolution
over time. That’s why, I believe, we cannot say any type of music is more
important. What we need to express ourselves will continue to exist. |
