Description of an object
In this part, you are supposed to describe an object, device, tool or a piece of furniture.It is recommended
that you break down the task into three parts. In other words, you may talk about the time when you got
the object, its physical features and finally your feelings about it.
Activity 1.
Describe something you liked very much which you bought for your home.

The television set which is in my bedroom is among the things that I like the most. I was twenty years ago when I bought it for my room in the dormitory of university. At that time, I was keen on football matches, especially the Champion’s League of Europe. Thus, I bought this loyal set to watch footballs in the privacy of my room. (time) The brand is JVC and the size is 14 inches. It is of LCD format and silver color. (physical features) After I married, since my wife knew about my feelings toward the old device, she let me put it in our bedroom. We have a larger, new one as well which is in the sitting room. Yet, the twenty-year-old TV set is there in my room to remind me of my youth when Manchester United and Alex Ferguson shined in the sky of European football. (my feelings) |

The thing that I really want to own is a dust bike. I
mean, I frankly long for a motorcycle to drive off-road tracks. Almost two years
ago, when I went to a safari in the central desert of Iran, which is called
Kavir e Lout, I saw some motorcycle riders who rode bikes of the same shape and
brand. Since then, the idea has haunted me. (time) The motorcycles were all HONDA brand. They came in
different colors, but my favorite is red with yellow strips. They are 250 cc
strong and designed for dirt roads. (physical features) to make a dream of mine come true. (my feelings) |
