Description of a person
In this part, you are supposed to describe a person (a friend, relative, teacher or famous person).
It is recommended that you break down the task into three parts. In other words, you
may talk about the time when you got to know the person, their physical features and
finally their personality traits.
Activity 1.
Describe one of your neighbors.

The neighbor - whom I really respect and like - lives in the second floor of our building. We moved into the place three years ago and right from the beginning, she treated us as if she were a real angel. Her behavior was welcoming, respectful and motherly. She treated us with a glass of orange juice which was heavenly delicious in the middle of cartons, clothes and all. (time) She is an old lady in her 60s who lives alone because her children are all married and gone. She has beautiful black eyes which are traces of a perfect beauty in her youth. Although her hair is almost white because of aging, she is agile and active in doing her daily activities, for which I thank gods. During the afternoons, she sits on an armchair in her balcony and watches the people passing by in the street. One can understand she loves people and life in the way she supervise the street below. Her look and eyes are full of passion and kindness, especially while seeing a homeless guy begging or walking, she will give the poor guy a warm meal or something to wear. (physical features) As a neighbor, she is clean, calm and supportive. In fact, one feels secure when she is around. I mean, when she is in her apartment, I feel good. Once I had forgotten my keys and I had to wait for my wife who was out to come and open the door. As soon as the old lady found out my problem, she took me inside and we talked for one hour about her children and my life to pass the time. (personality) |

The actor whom I really cherish and love is Mehran Modiri. Two decades ago, I got familiar with him when he was starring in Saat-e-Khosh, translating “The Happy Hour”. It was a popular Persian comedy which was totally different from previous works. Mr. Modiri and his team were new to television and Iranians. Yet, they made a great name for themselves. I mean, they became famous in no time. (time) Mehran Modiri is not tall, nor is he short. He has gray short hair. He is on the fat side. His voice is manly and warm and he laughs a lot. His great achievement is laughter and making others laugh. To put it simply, he laughs and Iranians laugh with him. Nearly all Iranians love him. (physical features) As to personality, he is friendly, kind and learned. he has made us laugh in the last twenty years or more. No doubt we all love him. (personality) |
